Sai Zaw, a photojournalist for Myanmar Now, was detained for ties with 'illegal news outlets' in Rakhine State on May 23 while covering the aftermath of Cyclone Mocha.
She has experienced a toothache, vomiting and dizziness and is unable to eat; prison authorities have refused her request for outside treatment, the sources said.
The NUG's promise of citizenship and full rights for the Rohingya has won it no meaningful help internationally, while being used by the junta to rally domestic support.
